The Many Attractions Of Atlanta

Finding out about attractions in Atlanta is not hard at all. Every corner that you will turn has something or the other that will excite and entertain you. From great places to visit to great places to eat and to shop – you will get it all in Atlanta.

If you are in to spots, you will love to visit the Turner Field – home of Atlanta’s Baseball team the Atlanta Braves. The season is on from April through September. And even during off season you can visit the Braves Museum for over 600 Braves related artifacts.

Football fans would love the Georgia Dome, where the Atlanta Falcons hold court. Season starts from every September. The Dome has also hosted other prestigious sporting events like the 1996 Summer Olympics, the 2007 NCAA Men’s Final Tour and two super bowls.

Basketball lovers should attend a game at the Philips Arena and witness the Atlanta Hawks (NBA), the Atlanta Thrashers and the Atlanta Dream (WNBA) teams in actions. It is also a popular place for concerts and events.

Talking about concerts, the Chastain Amphitheater is one of the best venues for live music over a moonlit dinner. Frequently graced by music stars of all kinds, this is a place music lovers would not want to miss. Another place that you cannot afford to miss is the Woodruff Arts Center. It is home to the Alliance theatre that has produced over 50 world premiers and hosted countless talents from across the world. The center is also home to the Atlanta Symphonic Orchestra or ASO. The ASO boasts of a worldwide renown and they have gone on to receive 27 Grammy awards till date. To enjoy their music under the stars, the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater is a good start.

Have Fun Visiting Gwinnett County

The county of Gwinnett is located approximately 30 miles northeast of Atlanta. It is a well-located place with a flight reach of 2 hours to about 80% of the country. Established in the 1818, it is situated minutes from the beautiful Lake Lanier and is home to 15 different municipalities.

One of the most important establishments in the Gwinnett Arts scene is the Gwinnett Center. Home to a massive 13,000 seat modern facility called The Arena, the Center hosts events ranging from sports to music and theatre. The arena is also home to an ECHL hockey team called the Gwinnett Gladiators. It has hosted Broadway shows and several different sporting events so far.

It also has performing arts center with 702 seats where a lot of performances take place all year round. It has great acoustics and the design grants a good view from any seat in the house.

Events are also often held in the grand ballroom (21,000 sqft) at the convention center (50,000 sqft).

The Jacqueline Casey Hudgens Center for the Arts is another place to visit for those looking to enjoy some good visual arts – from paintings to sculptures and installations. It is situated right beside the Gwinnett center.
